December 2012 Prayer Letter
Welcome to our December prayer letter! (Okay it's one day late, but you'll forgive us!) Thank you to all of you who have sent your encouragement – it is really appreciated. This month has had its ups and downs. We had the encouragement of visiting WEST but we also had the sadness of Nat’s Aunty Christine’s funeral. It was a bit of a shock but we commit her and the family into the Lord’s hands.
At Hardwick I lead the monthly evangelistic meeting we had at the church. We've also planned to start up Christianity Explored over the course, beginning in January. Nat and I continued our work with the youth group. In my spare time, I have continued my reading. My main work has been studying How to Read the Bible Book by Book as part of my morning bible times. Also I have been working my way through Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology. It has been a reference work I’ve referred to for a long time. However, it has only been recently that I have discovered how encouraging it is devotionally. There have been many chapters that have made me stop and think, particularly his chapter on prayer. I must admit that the uncertainty about our finances has led Nat and I more and more to prayer.
On the topic of finances, we have now got a Paypal account up and running. Please consider giving money to support our ministry preparation. To find out more look at the green box below. Thank you.

Visit to West
I didn't get chance to tell you last time about our encourage trip to WEST. We met some fantastic people preparing for ministry, from as far away as Iran and Korea originally! It was good to listen to lectures for ourselves. We saw first hand how Christ-centred every lecture is from preaching classes to church history. Nat was very jealous of me! It was also encouraging to hear about WEST's work to plant churches in the Welsh valleys. Pray for the success of this initiative!Reading this month
Tim Chester’s Unreached was an encouraging read. It discussed how to preach the gospel in “working class and deprived areas”. Nat and I both found this helpful. We will see how the Lord calls us later but we feel particularly drawn to areas where there is little evangelical witness. It was encouraging that my new principal also read and enjoyed this.Donations

November 2012 Prayer Letter

Most of you will know that I’ve wanted to go into pastoral
ministry for a long time, probably since the first sermon I preached. Over the
years that desire has only intensified. Nevertheless, I wanted to work for a
few years first so I would have the life experience needed for ministry.
After four years of secular work, I shared my desire with my
Pastor. He recommended that I look into training straight away. I applied to
the Welsh Evangelical School of Theology (WEST), which was my first choice –
and got in! We will start in September 2013. It is our hope that this will prepare
me to lead churches in areas where there is little witness for the Gospel, so
we may see souls won to Christ.
We'd love for you to support us in prayer. Here are some points to pray for at the moment.
Praise Points
- Praise God that I was accepted at such a Bible-centred training college as WEST.
- Praise God for the opportunities we are getting at Hardwick Baptist Church that prepare us for our future ministry.
- Praise God for the support and prayers of many Christian brothers and sisters, both in our church and further afield.
